Artist Statement
Wendy is a Minnesota children's entertainer. She is a singer and storyteller, performing throughout Minnesota and Iowa for over 25 years. Wendy’s performances include shows at the Taste of Minnesota, Minnesota Children's Museum, History Center, Science Museum, festivals, fairs, libraries, schools, park programs, and birthday parties. She has produced four children’s music CD’s and one geared for adult audiences. She is the music specialist at many Twin Cities preschools and loves creating programs for families with young children.
Wendy grew up in Duluth, MN, studied at the University of MN and received her Masters Degree in Speech Pathology from Northwestern University in Chicago. She and her husband, Steve, raised three children and have one grandchild. She has been singing and playing guitar since she was ten. She became a full time musician after she had her kids, when she realized she could always bring them along to gigs, if she couldn't get a babysitter. Her children have contributed to all of her musical CD's and have encouraged her to continue to pursue more expressions of her music through video productions, recordings and collaborations.
Wendy has done numerous inservice programs for preschool and elementary teachers and librarians. She focuses her programs on ways to engage young children that go far beyond singing.
