Artist Statement

I make CBD herbal prerolls, medicinal teas, havdalah besamim (Jewish ritual plants), and ritual beeswax taper candles. I'm also a bodyworker, offering craniosacral bodywork. All my work draws from Jewish tradition and disability justice. I aim to help spark connections to plants & to our bodies. All my offerings are sliding scale & made in diaspora on Oceti Sakowin land.

Hiya I’m Miriam, my pronouns are they/them. I’m a disabled, queer, nonbinary, white ashkenazi Jew living on Occupied Dakhóta Land, otherwise known as southside Minneapolis. I’m a triple fire sign, if that's something you wanted to know.

I started making plant medicine for myself and exploring bodywork when my health and mobility deteriorated in 2016. I have degenerative conditions that have made normative jobs near impossible for me. So I decided to try offering the plant medicine I made for myself to to others. I've been trying out working at my own pace and schedule, creating a store for my herbal offerings and starting up a bodywork practice.

There’s pretty much nothing closer to my gay heart than being a part of building thriving diasporic queer and trans jewish community. And I love that the Jewish ritual items I make-- like havdalah besamim and shabbat candles-- can support twin cities Jewish community.
